Footy Privacy Policy
Effective October 29, 2026
Footy: Juggle & Ball Skills is published by Tigh Eckard. It counts your soccer juggles and drills with your phone's camera, on iPhone and Android. Training works without an account. This policy explains what the app uses and why.
Camera
Footy uses the camera to see you and the ball and count your touches. This is processed on your phone by tracking code built into the app. Video is never uploaded to us or anyone else. Footy doesn't use the microphone. On iPhone, a short clip of your run (recorded with Apple's screen recording, which asks you first) is kept on your iPhone so you can watch or share it, and it's only shared if you choose to share it. The Android app doesn't record clips.
What stays on your phone
Your runs, training sessions, XP, streaks, settings and reminders are stored on your phone.
If you sign in (optional)
You can sign in with Apple (iPhone) or Google (Android) to join the leaderboards and teams. Signing in is never required to train. We use Firebase, a service from Google, to run sign-in and to store the data below. We collect:
- Account details from your sign-in: an account ID, and the name and email address your provider shares (Apple can hide your email). We use the ID to link your profile. We don't show your email to other players.
- Your display name, which other players see. Names are filtered, and a name that breaks our rules can be removed.
- Your scores and progress: challenge bests, XP, training rank, training time, streaks and totals of touches and drills.
- Team details if you use teams: the team name (visible to its members and to anyone with the invite code), the invite code and the member list.
- Reports you send about another player's name: the reported player's ID and name, and your account ID. Players you block are remembered on your phone only.
Leaderboards and teams are visible to other signed-in Footy players on iPhone and Android. We use this data to run the app: leaderboards, teams and moderation. Data is encrypted in transit. We don't sell it, don't use it for advertising, and don't share it with anyone other than Google Firebase, which processes it for us.
Purchases
Footy Plus is an optional subscription sold and managed by Apple through the App Store on iPhone, and by Google through Google Play Billing on Android. We don't see your payment details. To manage or cancel it on iPhone, open Settings, your Apple Account, Subscriptions. On Android, open Google Play, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Notifications
If you allow them, reminders are scheduled on your phone. No data is sent to schedule them.
Reporting a problem
If you tap Report a Problem, Footy opens an email to us in your email app. It can include a short technical log of that run (where the ball and body were seen, frame by frame; no video or photos), and on Android your app version, phone model and Android version. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send the email, and we use it only to fix counting problems.
What we don't do
- No advertising and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No analytics or advertising software in the app.
- No selling or sharing of personal data.
Age
Footy is meant for players aged 13 and up. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email us and we will delete it.
Deleting your data
- In the app: Profile, Settings, Account, Delete Account removes your sign-in, your leaderboard profile and your team membership right away.
- Without the app: see how to delete your Footy account or email us. We delete verified requests within 30 days.
- Data saved on your phone is removed by clearing the app's storage or deleting the app.
Changes and questions
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and its date. Questions: email tigheckard@gmail.com or see Footy Support.
